Videos: Improving Your Vocal Technique
Mar 11th
The voice is the one instrument we take with us everywhere we go – even into the shower. Yet many of us spend less time working on vocal techniques than we do learning other instruments. Whether you are a lead vocalist, background vocalist, or just record your voice for “special effects”, these videos will teach you to warm up your voice, help you achieve a better vocal sound, and also protect your voice by teaching you to sing with a proper technique. Here is a compiled list of videos from the Tuts Network for your learning pleasure. You could even just watch to see how some people do it if you dont want to learn, there is alot there so enjoy what you like!

2. Singing Lessons: Part 2 – Freeing Your Voice Range
“This second singing lesson video, we talk about expanding the voice range. These voice exercises will help you sing high notes & have more power and clarity in your singing.”
Ghostbusters 3? Hell Yeah!
Jan 13th

Since the script for Ghostbusters 3 is currently being written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, writers of the Harold Ramis film Year One, there has been some speculation that Ramis could come on board to direct Ghostbusters 3. (Though the relative failure of Year One on both a creative and commercial level didn’t add much weight to the speculation.)
Now we know that Ivan Reitman, producer and director of both original Ghostbusters films, will direct the third as well. What story elements can we expect to see in this third chapter? He isn’t saying.
Speaking to MTV, Reitman said that Eisenberg and Stupnitsky are working on a second draft of the script now. “They have delivered a draft,” he said. “We are working our way through another draft… good work is being done and all of us have our fingers crossed.”
Asked if he will direct the third film, Reitman simply said, “Yes.” We’d known he would be producing at least, but this is the first confirmation that he’ll direct.
He wouldn’t comment on recent rumors about the film. Reitman brushed off statements by Sigourney Weaver, who said that Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman character may appear in the film as a ghost. “I’m not going to comment on what’s in the script and on what Sigourney may or may not have said.” He offers that there are “some very cool things” in the script now.
That leaves us with the long-standing party line, as typically delivered by Dan Aykroyd, which is that the film will feature a young cadre of new Ghostbusters in addition to appearances (possibly as mentors to the young’uns) by the classic characters. One of the young ghostbusters may be Oscar, the grown son of Weaver character, and we can expect a lot of new gadgets and dimension-hopping tech. Personally, I just want some comedy that works. Everything after that will be cake.
Zelda ReOrchestrated
Dec 29th
Russ Frushtick at MTV Multiplayer was following the progress of a musical group that wanted to remake the music in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with a real orchestra. Today, he reports, they’ve finally finished their work.
The Zelda Reorchestrated project (a.k.a. ZREO) first got started six years ago when a 14-year-old had the brilliant idea to redo all the music in the game with an orchestra. Now, 82 tracks later, the idea is real and you can listen to it yourself.
As of a month ago, we were only short a handful of songs to complete the album, however, many of the songs from Ocarina of Time were not nearly up to par with others, so we decided to go through the album, song by song, and figure out which songs needed to be remade. It started out as five, then ten, twelve. The list grew and grew till we reached a whopping 22 tracks. Today, we release those additional 22 remakes.
Frushtick rightly points out that this work is in no way protected from a take-down notice from Nintendo (though I’m sure the more clever legal minds out there could make a case for fair use). So get it while it’s hot in download form or pop over to Zelda Reorchestrated just to sample their work. Really, it’s pretty neat.

Streaming from my iPhone
Dec 10th
For the past 2 1/2 years now off and on I have been streaming what I guess I would call a live webshow from 337Studios.tv using Ustream for the most part. I have ventured into Justin.tv and Stickcam as well and even thought about paying for BitGravity, but I dont get any money out of doing any of the streaming so the shows have been slim on account of me deciding to do actual work for clients and not spend any time streaming any of the stuff. Most of the time it would tax my CPU which was the main computer I also produced designs and music on. Well I have recently got a netbook that can handle the streaming part as well as Apple allowing Ustream to have a native live broadcasting app on the iPhone now. So I am gonna try to go back to streaming alot more. Especially since lately I have had more musical clients as well as some fun video editing projects with DVD menus and stuff I could have been showing off but mostly what I miss is some freestyle friday and some just getting buzzed and hanging with a group of artists making stuff.
So with all that being said, I have talked with a few previous cohosts and artists and we will start bringing back the funk. Anyway we can, lol! So just like the previous show, I have a new setup for the more mobile version. Overall if your following @Skettalee on twitter then you should be fine to see when any of the versions of the show go live and can come join us in chat or even call in when we aren’t doing the mobile version. So check the links below and leave your feedback on what you mostly want to see.
