First iPhone 4 Wedding Video
Jul 19th
Ever since I got my iPhone 4 I have been itching to try it out in some of my real world freelance projects. I have been doing a lot of editing with any kind of camera you can think of to put together great product for a client of mine named David Axe that takes from iPod’s with video cameras to HD Sony cameras all over Afghanistan and other places. We put that stuff together to make great pieces, so why cant I take this new iPhone 4 with an amazing high definition camera that takes great? shots under the right circumstances? Well I could, I already lined up and talked a client into letting me shot part of his upcoming music video with it, another one wants me to do every part of the project using it and now I already got a wedding video done!
The wedding video was not planned at all but came out decent enough for them to at least have their greatest moments captured in high quality for them. I was at a friends wedding when I realized I didn’t see anyone with a professional camera capturing this great day so I dug into my pocket and said I got this!
It wasn’t the most pleasant thing in the world trying to keep my phone straight the whole time for a Catholic wedding but I did fairly well for an impromptu videography session. The best part about the whole thing was the quick turnaround. I shot it at around 2pm, edited a good bit on the way back home and put the final touches a few hours later after hanging around the house. Now its a DVD for them, the day after! I will work on my equipment to get more smooth shots and be more steady with the camera and turn this into one of my production tools. Here is a quick clip of the highlights, Watch it in HD!!!

Videos: Improving Your Vocal Technique
Mar 11th
The voice is the one instrument we take with us everywhere we go – even into the shower. Yet many of us spend less time working on vocal techniques than we do learning other instruments. Whether you are a lead vocalist, background vocalist, or just record your voice for “special effects”, these videos will teach you to warm up your voice, help you achieve a better vocal sound, and also protect your voice by teaching you to sing with a proper technique. Here is a compiled list of videos from the Tuts Network for your learning pleasure. You could even just watch to see how some people do it if you dont want to learn, there is alot there so enjoy what you like!

The UsCast 001 - A Sick Start
(Lee & Charity’s New Podcast)
Charity and I have been wanting to just record our random conversations about various topics and put them online for a while. Now I guess is a decent time to start doing so, and matter of fact, we dont care how much they suck because we will just keep on doing it to archive the crazy thoughts going through our heads. For a great example, we decided to start the first one while we both sound horrible and sick from either head or sinus colds so enjoy it and please tell us what you think. We will be adding a website and twitter and area for it to be very easy to send in your input and even ask us questions. We promise we will make it easy to understand why we are doing this and why you are going to want to listen. Right now, just let us iron it out. We are in beta ok? Thanks for listening beta testers!
Email comments/questions/requests uscast@337studios.com
Leave a voicemail and we will play it on the show (337) 935-0133

Sneak Peek: Photoshop CS5
Jan 5th

There’s a chance you might already have seen this ‘sneak peek’ video, in which case forgive me. For those of you that haven’t seen it, read on and take the jump to view it.
This is actually old news, but I only just stumbled across it a couple of days ago. You see, news of Adobe’s next Creative Suite is so hard to come by that this is still the latest Photoshop development! In fact, since October, the only news they’ve released was to announce the cancellation of their Flash CS5 public beta. But can I say, having just watched the the ‘sneak peek’, I am now very, very excited about the possible applications for Adobe’s CS5. Give us more news, Adobe!
Do you see the 3D elements that have been thrown in? The wire frame, the joints (the kinematics!), the simulation of a paint brush’s tip… it’s really quite crazy. I know Adobe gets a lot of flak for the continuous milking of their cash cow, but after that video I could almost forgive them.
With no news since October, and their usual 18- to 24-month development cycle, we might actually see Photoshop CS5 and Flash within a couple of months. I’m positively eager to review both of them.

Benoit + Technology = Greatness
Feb 15th
If you guys havent figured out already that technology is one the greatest aspects of my life. If it wasn’t for the latest and greatest, you wouldn’t be reading this at all. As you guys should already know, my dad is who initially got me into this technological web of goodies as well as music. Just got off the phone with him and he let me know some information about how his new album is doing. There are a few reviews online and I would like to direct you guys to some of them.
His last album was created by him in his own home using the programs Digidesign Protools & Adobe Audition. Alot of you that come here already know the programs cause I talk about them somewhat regularly. I guess I can get straight to the point and let you guys read the articles. Be sure to click the ablum and listen to some samples, you might want to buy the album.
PS: I collaborated with my dad to create that album cover as well.
